My first visit to a melee of colour and tradition, the Surajkund International Crafts Fair or Surajkund Mela as its commonly called. Started in 1987 and held every year, between Feb 1-15, during the spring season, the fair is a colorful traditional craft festival of India. Traditional craftsmen (artists, painters, weavers and sculptors) from all parts of the country participate in this annual conclave of folk art, tradition, culture and handicraft. This Mela (fair) is visited by lovers of arts and crafts from all over the world and is a photographer’s delight.
